Aaliyah and Jessica’s cadetships end with university degrees

Jan 23, 2024

Aaliyah Scott-Postle and Jessica Morrison have completed the Mid North Coast Local Health District Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery cadetship program.

Aaliyah and Jessica joined the Mid North Coast team in 2021 through the Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery Cadetship program, while studying a Bachelor of Nursing degree at university.

They recently graduated from university as Registered Nurses and are now continuing their professional journey where they will commence GradStart positions with the MNCLHD in 2024.

MNCLHD offers the NSW Health Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery Cadetship Program to provide support and assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people studying or enrolling in an undergraduate nursing or midwifery degree at university.

The GradStart program is coordinated by the Nursing and Midwifery Office (NaMO). This is the annual state-wide process to recruit graduate nurses and midwives.

Anyone wanting to find out more about the cadetships should contact the Nurse Manager Aboriginal Health Workforce and Strategy, Kathleen Bohannon, at Kathleen.Bohannon@health.nsw.gov.au.
