245+ years of service recognised at Bellingen hospital
Oct 14, 2024Last week staff gathered at the Bellinger River District Hospital to acknowledge the service of colleagues whose combined length of service is around 245 years.
Executive Officer and Director of Nursing, Lisa Slater, said the experience brought by long-serving staff benefits the greater community.
“It’s amazing to have so many years of experience amongst our work family, including those who may not have been in the district for all that time but gained experience in other areas of the state, the country or the world,” she said.
Eight staff members earned service badges of 25, 35 and 40 years, with further pins to be given at a later date.
Staff from across the hospital congratulated their colleagues at a celebratory afternoon tea.
All permanent, temporary, and casual staff with more than 10 years of continuous service, not collective years, are eligible for a Recognition of Service pin.
At the end of each year, the service data is collated, and pins are awarded the following year to those with 10, 15, 20, 25 (etc) years of continuous service to NSW Health.
Despite best efforts, sometimes the data used for Service Awards can contain errors. You can check your ‘Years of Service History’ in Stafflink. If you believe your information is incorrect, lodge a ticket in SARA for a General HR Enquiry.
If anyone did not receive a Recognition of Service pin and should have been included, the contact point for pursuing the recognition award is the Organisational Development team.
There is a query form on the Reward and Recognition Intranet Page or staff can email the team directly at MNCLHD-CultureTransformation@health.nsw.gov.au.
