Mid North Coast Local Health District covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres, extending from the Port Macquarie in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north. The western and southern borders of the MNC LHD join the Hunter New England LHD with Northern New South Wales LHD to the north.
It was estimated that over 200,000 people live in the Mid North Coast LHD with 5% of persons identified as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and approximately 20% of the total population being under the age of 16 years.
We employ over 3,880 people with over half of these being nurses and midwives.
The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNC LHD) is divided into two geographical Networks:
- Coffs Clinical Network includes Coffs Harbour Base Hospital, Macksville Health Campus, Bellingen District Hospital and Dorrigo Multipurpose Centre
- Hastings Macleay Clinical Network includes Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Wauchope District Hospital and Kempsey District Hospital.
