There were three cases of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District to 8pm yesterday (7 October).

Two cases are from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area and are linked to known cases reported last weekend.

The other case is from the Kempsey Local Government Area and the source of their infection is under investigation.

The North Coast Public Health Unit is currently investigating this case and contact tracing is underway. We will provide more information as soon as it is available, including any potential exposure venues of public concern.

NSW Health does not disclose details about venues unless there is a public health reason to do so.

When a confirmed COVID-19 case attends a venue while possibly infectious, NSW Health carries out a risk assessment on that venue to determine whether other people may have been exposed and whether there is a public health risk.

There have been 37 cases reported in the MNCLHD since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.

We ask the community to please remain vigilant and come forward for testing for even the mildest symptoms of COVID-19.  Please continue to practise COVID-safe measures at all times.

There are more than 500 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. Find a clinic at COVID-19 testing clinics or contact your GP.

We encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as they are able to. Find available bookings at the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder (previously Eligibility Checker), or you can also call Health Direct on 1800 571 155 for assistance to book.
