Social Seniors and Friends Program

Social Seniors is a social activities program that provides older people the opportunity to socialise and take part in a centre based activities program. The program also provides support for carers by providing ‘time out’.

Philosophy of service is to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills or redevelop some old ones.

Referral Criteria

  • Frail aged or people with a disability who feel they are socially isolated and have limited options for social interaction or activities with the community
  • Those people who are at risk of being inappropriately or permanently admitted at a residential aged care facility or other institutions
  • Respite for carers of people who fall into the above categories.

Referral Procedures

Referrals will be accepted from all sources within the community including fellow professionals of the Mid North Coast Local Health District, hospitals, medical officers, family, friends and neighbours.
